The University of New England Law Journal was established in 2004 as a legal periodical publishing scholarly articles, case notes and book reviews of interest to practitioners, academic lawyers and students of law. The journal is generalist in outlook and publishes on a wide variety of doctrinal, socio-legal, historical and theoretical perspectives of the law from both Australian and international authors.

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.

Contributions

The University of New England Law Journal welcomes both solicited and unsolicited contributions for the articles, case notes and comment, and book reviews sections of the journal. Manuscript articles should normally be no more than 8000 words in length (including references) and case notes and book reviews should be no longer than 3500 words. Articles should also contain a short abstract of between 50;100 words.

Manuscript submissions may be submitted by post to the Editor, University of New England Law Journal, School of Law, University of New England, Armidale, NSW, Australia 2351, or by email (unelj@une.edu.au). The preferred format is MS Word, and submissions should be double-spaced with a font of at least 12 points. Facsimiled manuscripts are not acceptable.

General enquiries should be made in writing to the Editor at the above addresses.

All submissions to the journal are accepted on the basis that they have not been published elsewhere or under consideration for publication in another journal.

Style Guide

The journal uses the conventions contained in the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (2nd ed, 2002). This publi-cation is available to view on-line at ;http://www.mulr.law.unimelb.edu.au/aglc.asp;. Specific queries may be addressed to the Editor.

Acceptance of Submissions for Publication

Articles published in the journal are reviewed by academic staff members of the School of Law as well as being submitted to an appropriately qualified external referee. The recommendation of the external referee as to publication is considered by the Editorial Committee. The final decision as to publication is that of the Editorial Committee.

Copyright

Copyright in submissions published in the journal is vested jointly in the University of New England, and, in respect of their contributions, the contributors.

Hard copy subscriptions to the journal are available at a cost of $70 per annum plus GST. Subscription enquiries should be addressed to the Editor in writing or by email (unelj@une.edu.au).
